12. What do you like least about your school?
Overall Summary
  • adad
  • - Cooperation of the administration with students' requests - You need to set electives up for yourself. You need to do a lot of your school planning yourself. - Competitive nature of the student body. - The adminstration's lack of respect and regard for the students. The poor quality and lack of professionalism of some of the school's employees. The fact that there are fewer clinical places available than students who need them. - living away from home - No patient interaction while on St. Maarten. Little mentoring/advising by faculty while on St. Maarten and absolutely no one to help once you have left. - I don't find a lot of support for choosing residencies and finding senior electives. I have worked hard on my own and had a great education with excellent clinical experiences. - The quality of the education was not acceptable, and the financial aid office is unhelpful. Also, career counseling is not available.
  • The management. Chinese owned school run like it was a corner store.
  • Dealing with administration
  • Financial Aid Personnel are worthless
  • The Anatomy Department
  • There is lack of career guidance and mentoring. Most of us are lost when it comes to "what's next", and how do we do things from here, (that is after 5th semester ends). But in the end (I'm only half way through), I hear everyone who makes it past 5th semester, makes it.
  • Fastfood restaurants run with higher efficiency than this place. The quality of the education is ridiculous. I received better structure and professional consistency at the city community college i attended. Know this, it does not take a renowned prof., etc to teach this curriculum. It's real simple, teach out of BRS, teach out of BRS, teach out of BRS, duhhhhhhhh! I swear to God, I wish i was in charge around here. Heads would role, order would be restored (if there ever was any), and students would be given what they need to have the best scores possible (which, in the end, assuming you meet certain ethical/moral thresholds, is all that matters).
  • Inefficient about getting information out to students. Rules change often.
  • Did not teach to step 1.
  • ha
  • admin made changes quickly support for clinical years and grads can be better
  • The pace here is very chill. Just remember that outside the campus, people operate at a slower rate. Most places are closed by 2 pm on Sunday.
  • being so far away from family

  • - Overall, you will receive the information that you need for Step 1 along with the basic knowledge of medicine. The clinical years are finished either in the US or England. With information pertaingin to these US sites, there is hardly any information disseminated to the students. - You get out of it what you put into it. Like any school, you have to put in initiative to learn. - Study hard and work on step 1 asap, since the school does nothing to support it. - overall it's an excellend experience - Better preparation for Steps 1 and 2 are ongoing. This school is not for you unless you are highly motivated to succeed! - If you can't get in Stateside, AUC will provide a great opportunity to become the best doctor you can be. I will do my best to represent my alma mater in the realm of academic medicine.
  • This school will give you the opportunity for full licensure along with St. George, Ross, and SABA. Be prepared for a lot of headaches.
  • Having been here about a year, I do not regret my overall decision to come here.
  • Overall, I believe AUC is a great school and gives you the opportunity to be what you want to be, as long as you are dedicated and highly motivated.
  • No consistency. A lame duck. A work in progress (more like digress). No rhyme or reason to the way things operate, and definitely no pride or cohesion amongst students (there probably should be a little of that). I recommend a professional consultant firm be hired to set up a education/business plan to get this show on the road. And, plz, someone help Tien dress himself in the mornings.
  • Overall, it's an excellent medical education and the cliical opportunity to study in England was tremendous. It is somewhat challenging to set up electives and the school could be more helpful in that respect. I would not choose another school if given the opportunity and know what I know now.
  • which
  • I made friends for life there and they became my family
  • Great school with a lot of history.
  • AUC is the only place to be in the caribbean. Its not ross so they wont just try to take your money and push you out the door. It's easy to get to unlike SGU and the quality of education is definitely above average. Come here!
  • Hard work
