Overall Summary
  • - There is lots of patient interaction in the first 2 years. There is also many opportunities for exposure to underserved areas and popultations. A unique feature is the administration of public health grants for a Masters degrees to osteopathic students who meet specific grading criteria. - I like that the faculty are so accesible and that the administration is always trying to work with us to improve the programs.

12. What do you like least about your school?
Overall Summary
  • - Perhaps, too many lecture hours. - The financial aid department sucks, they are unorganized and it's a hassle to have to fight with them to get your loan refunds in a reasonable amount of time. It could be worse (they could lose EVERYONE'S information) but it could be much better.

13. Please share any other thoughts you may have about your school.
Overall Summary
  • - NSU-COM offers a unique learning environment where faculty and students really work together for the betterment of our educational experience. There is a genuine feeling of camaraderie between faculty, administration, and students. And I truly beleive that NSU provides a well-rounded medical school experience, encompassing several aspects of health care, i.e. managed care seminars, health policy conventions, research opportunities, etc... Did I mention that it's in Ft. Lauderdale?? - I think NSUCOM is a wonderful environment to learn, the professors are great, we have EXCELLENT clinical classes and clinical exposure, starting the first semester. I've already done H&P's at my IGC doctor's office and it's only my second semester. Florida is a great atmosphere and there are lots of activities and clubs to get involved in. There's something for everyone. I love it here and I would chose NSUCOM if I had it to do all over again, without a doubt.
