12. What do you like least about your school?
Overall Summary
  • - the poor quality of instruction and lack of board exam preparation. - Faculty and Administration unwilling to revise curriculum because of past success. - Need to be aggressive about gaining clinical experience. Physiology class is terrible. Patient population is generally unmotivated, but good for seeing pathology. Computer system at University does not allow you to access old records.. overall not much use except to look up labs. Ancillary staff lacks credibility, often do not know details of patients care. Very difficult to get tests etc done for patient, must f/u EVERYTHING. Popular saying ORDERS=SUGGESTIONS. - Too many contact lecture hours. Program hasn't adjusted with the times and has made poor curriculum revision decisions. - Parking.

13. Please share any other thoughts you may have about your school.
Overall Summary
  • - In light of all the difficulties encountered during clinical years.. as listed above, I found that leaning in this environment worked to my advantage when working at other hospitals which are more efficient. When I did encounter problems, I knew how to solve them easily (better than many residents)because I have had plenty of experience. - In ths process of revising curriculum to better match the learning styles of the 21st century student. Expect comp upgrades, less lecture and better prep for the steps. If considering may want to wait a few years for the painful process to complete.
