Overall Summary
1. What do you like best about your school?
Overall Summary
  • there is easy access to old tests
  • More free time than in the US.
  • annual thanksgiving dinner
  • Quality of education. Teacers were excellent and most of them did rotations in the US so they understood the american system. Poznan is a nice european town with lots of universities, safe & clean. A lot of people in the town there speak English.
  • Nothing
  • QUICK NOTE I REVIEW THIS AS THE AVAILABLE 6 YR PROGRAM I AM NOT SURE HOW THE 4 YR PROGRAM IS BUT FROM FRIENDS I HEAR ABOUT THE SAME MAYBE SLIGHTLY BETTER You as a foriegn student get away with a lot more You as an american student get smaller groups-max 5 ppl -polish like 10-12 NBME's for basic sciences are graded on a curve!! Meaning 10% only can potentially be a pass if there are enough people who do worse than you. The fact that it is cheaper than the states. Ability to change around a day here or there to turn a 3 day weekend into a 5 day one.
  • The opportunities offered to us.
  • the retakes
  • My class...they're for the most part all very helpful and we have a lot of fun together.

12. What do you like least about your school?
Overall Summary
  • there is no one to turn to for everything. you are alone
  • I agree you have little support here.
  • disorganization. None of the Admin. seem interested in much other then them selves. Lack of resources, like cadavers. Some of the inter-term tests are poorly writen. The financial aid office NY; is the worst thing on this planet even beyond Ebola and aids.
  • polish mentality of customer does not exist
  • It is a long 4-year period away from the US, but one may do some clinical rotations in the US as an option.
  • Most disorganized school. If you come here be prepared to teach yourself.
  • Some teachers spoke really good english yet some very poor english-example in physiology one teacher is lecturing and out of no where she says Able and I turn to my friend who turns to me and says what is she talking about. after 5 minutes of debating we finally realize she meant to say Eyeball. Some teachers are scared that there english is poor and every 2 seconds they say how do you sy this or how do you pronounce that. Some teachers even spend 1/5 of the lectures talking to POlish speaking students asking them how do you say this word in English or this word. NOW THIS does NOT go for ALL teachers-some are so good in their english skills you forget you are not in a foriegn country. And some are decent; they may mispronouce a word here or there or say he instead of she and vice versa but you can understand them. The fact that they are so stingy with everything, you pay so much (granted less then in the states) but they ask you to pay for every little thing. The fact that they each year take in more and more students even if they do not increase the staff number. Every year they screw up the shedule so you have to go around talking to teachers fixing it on your own. For example they give you 15 minutes to get from one class to the other yet the class is on the other side of town minimum of 30 minutes to get there. Deans office is open only for a few hours and those are always when you are in school so in order to get anything done you need to skip out on a class.
  • The index - why can't grades be computerized?
  • gossip
  • The school itself.

13. Please share any other thoughts you may have about your school.
Overall Summary
  • Its not the shabby facilities that bother me as much as the lack of interest in improving the program. Having said that the level is good, and people succeed in there goals.
  • a do it yourself school. you will get a decent education here, bottom line, but it's up to you to make sure that you get the best experience possible. nobody holds your hand here.
  • Very good opportunity to do research if one has desire & time. There is an opportunity to do PhD in addition to MD. I recommend 4-year Med School in Poznan,Poland. I have graduated from it in 1997, passed USMLE etc, and now am in practice as an MD in Wisconsin.
  • Only 1 cadaver for the entire 4 year program!
  • This school is very unwilling to hear what the students have to say. The way the ciricullum is set up at times leaves room for improvement. All in all it is not the worst school but it still leaves a lot to be desired. You really are here alone and if you are not the type of person to push yourself and force yourself to learn the material you will be left way behind.
  • It's a great place if you don't get in anywhere else, but if you get the chance to go somewhere else- TAKE IT.
